Have you ever noticed that the news is designed to keep you in fear? It is labeled "fear porn" for a reason. I know people who watch the news incessantly. They always love to tell me "isn't that sad what happened to that 6 year old boy?" They assume I know what they are talking about. I don't. When I tell them I don't know they continue to talk to me as if I knew what they were talking about. I have just encountered a RATASS. That person who idolizes the news are Resistant And Talking About Stupid Shit. I ask why did you put that in my brain?
When you are watching and talking about "fear porn" you are idolizing what is not true. When you talk about it, you become resistant, the opposite of allowing, and talking about fiction / stupid shit. Lesson 25 teaches We do not know what anything is for. When you completely understand this you know (not think) that what happened to that 6 year old could be meant for good somehow, someway. Because we do not know what anything is for. ACIM L.25
Watching the news is a way of idolizing. It keeps you from knowing the truth which is "I do not know what anything is for."
If you find you are idolizing something try taking a fast from it. A "fear porn"/news fast is one of the best ways I know to start cleaning your mind. The news comes in many forms in today's time. Trust that if you are to know what is going on in the world you will know. Heck you may have someone tell you, like I often do. I read the news occasionally but I also practice Ho'oponono and clean on all that I read so I do not have the idol sticking in my consciousness.
Try a "fear porn" fast. Watch how the positivity shines and you quit Resisting and start Allowing.
