"Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary." Steve Jobs, Commencement Speech
Have you ever let someone else's opinions drown out your own inner voice? It feels like someone is crushing your dreams. Not a great feeling!
Joseph Rodriguies of Insights and Intuitions mentions Steve Jobs Commencement Speech often. When you let someone else crush your dreams you are letting doubt and indecision into your space. And soon fear follows because doubt and indecision crystallize into fear.
We cannot do that to ourselves because that is not our inner voice talking and it takes away the courage needed to follow your heart and intuition.
On my Instagram I post pictures of LA Fitness and of myself working out. I do this so as to inspire others, I am following my heart. However, there are those who are offended and judge me on it because if they were to do this they would be bragging about something. I do not do it to brag, I do it to show my clients that I practice what I teach and I do so with gusto at 54 years young. They can do it too!! And I post pictures of LA Fitness because the sky is always different. Its my responsibility for what I see. I see beauty and potential, even on the dreariest of days.
If you see judgement that says a lot more about you than it does about me. Remember that next time someone judges you. As the judgement is all about them, not you.
We have to think. Don't let the opinions of others drown out your own inner voice. It will feel horrible because your inner voice does not think like that. When you are in harmony you are listening to that inner voice. Period.
How do you handle criticism? Judgement? And other people's opinions?
Until next time much love, Kathie
